| Malebolgia BIO 2008
The sub-circles in circle 8 have a special name given to them by Dante. Each is called a 'malebolgia' or evil-pocket (in Italian 'male' = evil, bolgia = pocket) and circle eight as a whole (i.e. a collection of such pockets) is called the 'Malebolge' (the plural form of 'malbolgia'). These 'evil-pockets' are like a tunnel running around the whole circle of Hell. This is a word/ term which Dante himself invented.
MALEBOLGIA began in 2000 as a side-project for Joseph and Kevin and quickly became the serious band they had sought. While many musicians have come and gone throughout the years, the core line-up of Joseph (guitar/vocals), and Kevin (drums, vocals), has developed its own gruesome flavor of extreme music. Initially a gore band, MALEBOLGIA later collectively decided that while Gore is great, there needed to be something behind the lyrics to match the intensity and insanity of the music |

Sapremia was one of the premier Death Metal acts in the early 1990's, hailing from Southern New Jersey, USA. Touring took us around the United States and our two releases reached the ends of the globe. Now, 10 years later, we are back and ready to do it again. Our first venture is to release "Subconscious Existence", which is a full length, remastered CD featuring all the songs from our two demo releases "Subconscious Rot" in 1992 and "Existence of Torture" in 1994. Sapremia now looks like, Lou Ferrara bass/vocals, Brian Valenti guitar (ex- Mortal Decay), Brian Rulli guitar, and Ryan Hill drums (ex- Malicious Intent). On March 4th 2007, Open Grave Records signed Sapremia to a two album deal, which we graciously signed. Our first album is to be entitled "Hollow". It features three newer songs, recorded for the first time, and two revamped songs from our Existence of Torture demo. This is due out August 28th, 2007. Our second album will be our very first full length, featuring 10 songs, due out in January 2008. We will be playing as many shows as possible to support our music and Open Grave records. |
